GCB / GIS / DTB Users’ Conference Expanded – More Products and Hands-On Training in 2013

Due to the overwhelming success of the 2011 Generator Circuit Breaker/Gas-Insulated Switchgear Users’ Conference, the 10th biennial training event has expanded to include new products (Dead Tank Circuit Breakers & High Voltage Service), and enhanced hands-on workshops.

From January 15th-17th, 2013; technical operators, maintenance staff, factory-certified field service engineers and product experts will gather to exchange experiences and discuss future challenges.
The diverse, yet comprehensive program will cover extensive technical theory of all the products, customer user stories from the field, and information about ABB world-class service support.

Hands-on training at 2011 conference with Senior Field Service Engineer, Claude Bazinet

Past attendees have given their take on the conference:

“To be able to see the inside of the interrupters, the general construction and the assembly will help me explain circuit breaker operation to our staff.”

“Your GCB group is made up of some dedicated people, that is apparent in the presentations.”
– 2008 Attendee

Included in the $200 registration fee is a reception and dinner at the Pacific oceanfront in Long Beach, California (no snow predicted!) and lunches daily.  Classes are from 8:30A-4:30P for three days with four hours of hands-on the equipment demos.  Gas-Insulated Switchgear is also hosting a trip to a local substation for GIS attendees on Friday, January 18th, 2013.

The Hyatt hotel has a secured the rate of $179/night for those attending the training.  Unheard for a Southern California hotel that has just undergone a $30M facelift!
See the event sign-up link below for more information on the event – we look forward to seeing you there!
