The funding will be used to support the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) as well as the Pediatric Intensive care unit (PICU).
Hi folks, Jay Lavrinc here. It was with great honor that the team in
with the support of the ABB
Foundation was able to do it's part to help the children of the McLeodChildren's Hospital community. Florence
On April 10th 2012, the ABB Florence management team presented a check to the McLeod Foundation for $10,000. The donation was made possible by the ABB Foundation in support of the McLeod Children's Hospital. The funding will be used to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as well as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The contribution will be used to support children that either are born prematurely and require intensive care until such time as they can go home (NICU) or children (including teenagers) that may have a need to enter the PICU for care due to a life threatening health issue.
The care that is provided by McLeod Children's hospital covers an eight county area. This includes other hospitals in the eight county regions that may have a premature birth, where the child needs neo-natal intensive care or at the McLeod hospital. In some instances the NICU or PICU children are air lifted to the hospital for immediate care. McLeod has the ability to transport children and neo-natal children in hospital specific transporters that are able to monitor and control, oxygen intake, temperature control and disburse medication automatically. The state of the art equipment allows McLeod to administer to the immediate needs of these patients.
McLeod hospital is a non-profit hospital and relies on the McLeod foundation for funding for these necessary care facilities for children.
